West Ham have received some welcome news as the Lucas Paqueta investigations continue to grow in pace.

In recent weeks there has undoubtedly been a shift in the momentum surrounding the ongoing case, whereby the Football Association are investigating alleged spot fixing by the player.

Recent developments have revealed evidence of a payment made between family members of Paqueta to Luis Enrique – the other player at the centre of the ongoing investigation over suspicions of deliberate bookings.

This has then been followed by the news that the Brazilian FA are now looking into the matter, and have since summoned the player to attend a hearing on the 30th October back in Brazil.

The date of the hearing falls between our Premier League fixtures against Manchester United and Nottingham Forest respectively – a situation that is certainly not ideal for West Ham.

Its now however been reported that the hearing will allow for Paqueta to dial in remotely, and therefore can remain in England.

Albeit a small victory, it is one nonetheless for West Ham, who are seemingly bracing for the worst case outcome on the situation, with confidence surrounding Paqueta being found innocent certainly waning.
