West Ham will consider Edin Terzic as a replacement for Julen Lopetegui, its been reported.
The Hammers Head Coach, who only joined the club in the summer when he replaced David Moyes, is finding himself under immense pressure following a poor start to the season in east London.
Following the latest defeat, which was a heavy one against Spurs at the weekend, sees further scrutiny on Lopetegui, with doubts growing over whether he is the right man to lead the side.
It’s now been reported by Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports, that the club are considering a move for former Hammers assistant Edin Terzic, who worked with Slaven Bilic, as the potential replacement for Lopetegui – should he be relieved of his duties.
Former BVB coach Edin #Terzic is a candidate in case West Ham United decide to replace manager Julen Lopetegui ✔️ The 41y/o has a good reputation at #WHUFC, where he worked from 2015-2017 as assistant coach under Slaven Bilic. Terzic is open to a new challenge and has also received interest from AC Milan, having already been in contact with their advisor, Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The West Ham Way Podcast co-host and club insider ExWHUEmployee has said that Terzic is a natural link to the potential role, having been at the club previously.
Ex though has said that this news is undermining the current Head Coach, which is not helping an already difficult situation at the club.
“It’s natural that Terzic is being linked with West Ham,” said Ex. “He’s been at the club when we had Bilic in charge, and also was a popular figure. However, I must stress that at this point the club are continuing to back Lopetegui to turn this poor start to the season around.
“It appears that some within the club is aiming to undermine Lopetegui, which is doing nothing whatsoever in helping the current situation.”
