West Ham star’s decision has led to questions being raised over the club’s kit maker.

While West Ham’s kits are rarely ugly, they are normally rather safe. Umbro are just a rather mediocre kit maker in the eyes of many, with most fans hoping they’d get someone like Adidas when the club’s deal with the clothing company ends at the end of the season.

Unfortunately, it looks like they are set to extend their deal with their long-term kit maker with talks ongoing.

Aside from the aesthetics of the kit though, there are some serious doubts from fans about whether or not the deal should continue considering the fact that the kits they’ve made aren’t even liked by the players.

At the start of the season, Michail Antonio was cutting slits at the neck of his shirt in order to allow easier breathing. Now, he’s got a specially made top with a collar that allows him to breathe freely.

Realistically, kits should be getting players approval before all else – they’re who are affected most by them. The fact that a tight neck wasn’t considered an issue by Umbro is a bit worrying. Visually, the three kits this season are some of the best Umbro have produced for our Irons, but that doesn’t matter if they’re having a negative impact on the players.
