West Ham and Mohammed Kudus have been charged by the FA, but the club are appealing against it.

Fans love to see passion and heart on the pitch, especially in derbys, but what Mohammed Kudus did against Tottenham is unacceptable. The initial incident with Van De Ven is fine, although certainly a red card, but the fact he continued to attack their players after having a moment to reflect isn’t okay.

While it was always on the cards, the fact the FA have now decided to charge both the club and the player, which could see him sidelined for an extended period of time.

Obviously losing him for any amount of time would be awful, but this could be absolutely disastrous for the Hammers’ season.

As a result, they are set to not only appeal against the charges against the club, but also Kudus’, Sean Whetstone has reported. The FA have given the Irons until Thursday to respond, so it’s not too much time to sort their defence out. How much of a leg they have to stand on though is questionable; Kudus did commit multiple red card offences.

Hopefully the ban can at the very least stay at 3 games, any longer than that could have dire consequences for Julen Lopetegui’s side.
