A journalist has suggested that Julen Lopetegui may be losing the dressing room at West Ham.
While this there was the odd player that didn’t have a great relationship with him, the vast majority of players that were at West Ham under David Moyes absolutely adored him.
Whether he was the right man for the job or not is up for debate still, but there’s no denying that the players would’ve died for that man.
Unfortunately, as of right now, Julen Lopetegui has failed to have anywhere near that level of impact since joining the club. Despite saying all the right things ahead of the season, there seems to be a lack of cohesion amongst the squad.
According to journalist Alex Crook, this could be down to the players not being fully behind the Spaniard. “I’m told the players aren’t necessarily convinced by him,” Crook explained to talkSPORT.
“I think there’s been one or two issues, hasn’t there.”
“There were some members of the hierarchy who weren’t entirely sure about the appointment in the first place, so the more results that go against them, their concerns are going to get louder.”
Hardly any fans actually wanted Lopetegui to begin with, and virtually 0 had him as their first choice. However, the board went with the cheaper option and, so far, it’s backfired massively. If he truly is starting to lose the dressing room as Crook suggests, then surely it’s best the club start thinking about cutting their losses.
