West Ham fans could force the board’s hand when it comes to Julen Lopetegui’s future.

No one associated with West Ham United is remotely content with the start to the season their side has had. Their only two league wins have come against two of the worst sides in the Premier League, and their performances have been woeful.

Unsurprisingly, pressure has already started to mount on Julen Lopetegui and the Hammers’ former scout Mick Brown believes that things could turn ugly very fast. Results have not been good enough, let’s start there,” he told Football Insider.

“West Ham have made so many bad decisions, but as yet have not paid for those decisions, but they might be seeing the consequences of that now.”

“If they keep losing games in the way they do, questions will be asked. If they’re the ones getting it in the neck from the supporters, they don’t like the pressure. They’re not very good at dealing with it. That’s when these decisions tend to get made.”

“We saw during Moysey’s time at the club how much the fans can influence the decision. If they have 60,000 people all screaming for the same outcome, that’s a lot of pressure.”

Fans were divided over Moyes’ future, but if things carry on like this then the verdict will be pretty unanimous. Lopetegui needs to turn things around fast or, as Brown says, it could get very ugly.
