West Ham United are considering a move for 2024 Ballon d’Or nominee Ademola Lookman from Serie A side Atalanta, according to a report from GIVEMESPORT.

The former Everton and Fulham forward enjoyed an impressive 2023/24 season at Atalanta, netting 17 times, registering ten assists across all competitions, and scoring a hat-trick in the Europa League final.

This stellar form earned him a nomination for the prestigious Ballon d’Or award, the Nigeria International finished 14th in the final standings, ahead of the likes of Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, and Cole Palmer.

This has helped drum up a lot of interest and many clubs are now monitoring the Charlton academy graduate. West Ham have emerged as potential suitors, with the Hammers keen to further boost Julen Lopetegui’s attacking lineup after a poor start to his tenure.

During his time in England, Lookman was known as a winger, however, since moving to Italy he has started to shine as a striker. West Ham will undoubtedly be looking for a striker next summer, or even in January with Michail Antonio aging and Niclas Fullkrug failing to make a huge impact.

Manchester United and Arsenal have both been linked with €50m moves for the forward, however, the Hammers are more likely to sign the player according to GMS sources. A forward line of Lookman, Bowen, Kudus, and Paqueta would be frightening for every side in the Premier League.
