West Ham summer signing Max Kilman has spoken of his happiness of being at the club since his summer move.

Kilman headed to east London in the summer from Wolverhampton Wanderers in a £40m deal, which the player already has shown so far has been a wise investment from the club for such a talented centre-back.

The defender is already showing signs of a blossoming partnership with Jean-Clair Todibo aswell as Dinos Mavropanos, giving hope of a settled defensive structure at the club for seasons to come.

West Ham overcame Manchester United at the weekend for which Kilman played a key role, however the defender admitted that the first half wasn’t the best, but Lopetegui’s message at the break was delivered by his side.

“We had to show way more resilience in the second half,” Kilman told the clubs Official Website. “The manager’s message was we just had to make sure we improved on that performance in the first half and we did. We had some really good moments, pressed really high, gained the ball in good areas and it helped that the fans pushed us on really well.

“There are so many top teams in the Premier League so, whoever you play against, you know you’re going to be up against tough, tough opposition. Obviously Manchester United are Manchester United, so it was just great to win.”

Kilman also admitted that he’s delighted with his decision to move to east London in the summer, with the player now settled and ready to kick on.

“I love it here,” added Kilman. “I’ve settled in really nicely. Everyone’s made me feel so welcome so, I’m grateful to be here. I just want to kick on and keep improving and keep doing my best.

“It’s great to work with him again, him and his team. He is obviously very passionate. He wants to bring the best out of all his players. So we just need to keep working and everyone needs to keep getting their head down and keep improving.”
