Insider claims that West Ham do have a buy clause in Carlos Soler’s contract, but there’s a catch.
While the majority of West Ham’s Summer transfers have turned out to be a massive success, when signing so many players it’s expected that a couple won’t reach expectations.
Despite it being early days, Niclas Fullkrug has already raised doubts, and so has Carlos Soler. Both have had limited game time, but fans have been disappointed with the decision to spend so much of their budget on a striker who’s barely been fit.
However, Soler has been just as disappointing, with him looking like a downgrade on James Ward-Prowse.
The exact nature of his loan has been up in the air, but Claret and Hugh have provided some clarity. They claim that while there is an option to purchase him for around £27 million, it is purely an option.
Unless his form takes a dramatic turn, it doesn’t look like the board will exercise their right to activate the clause to purchase him from PSG next Summer.
