West Ham shockingly have one of the richest owners in the Premier League.

When you think of West Ham as a club, money isn’t something that immediately comes to mind. They don’t own their own stadium, up until very recently they didn’t spend big money, and their owners are known for having a poor relationship with the fans

However, due to recent developments, their wealth has shot up exponentially, and they now actually have the fourth richest owners in the entire Premier League with a combined wealth of £16 billion. Only Newcastle and the two Manchester clubs sit ahead of them, meaning that they are richer than Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Tottenham.

This is largely down to the massive increase in co-owner Daniel Kretinsky’s net worth, rising from £7.2 billion to £13 billion in just a year, Claret and Hugh reports.

Alongside him there’s David Sullivan with a net worth of around £1.1 billion, Tripp Smith with £1 billion, Vanessa Gold with £650 million, with other shareholders making up the rest with smaller amounts.

Although this on paper sounds amazing, in reality it means very little when PSR limits how much they can really spend. As long as the owners have the money to push the upper limit of the regulations, then it doesn’t matter if they have £5 billion or £100 billion – they can only spend what they’re allowed to.
