West Ham’s latest heavy defeat and poor performance piles the pressure on Julen Lopetegui.

It was another tactically baffling and inept display from West Ham, with the players looking no further in understanding of what is being instructed to them by the Spaniard.

Lopetegui’s clearly muddled game plans are now a thing of real concern, with little evidence to suggest that the former Wolves boss is capable of turning the dire situation around.

The latest debacle against Nottingham Forest saw West Ham looking lost throughout while the hosts showcased a team knowing their roles within a well disciplined system – a stark contrast to West Ham.

Following the 3-0 loss, both Dave Walker and ExWHUEmployee shared their thoughts, with both understandably angry and worried at the current state of play, with concerns as to where this season is heading continues to grow.

“What a shower that was, it was poor again, I don’t know what we are ever trying to to achieve?” exclaimed a furious Walker. “We have no identity? Players look disinterested, no clear game plan, no identity and if there is the players clearly didn’t embrace it! Another week of concern, at some point this has got to click?

“Lopetegui has been here long enough now to establish a first eleven and a philosophy that resonates. The Everton game is massive now.”

Ex was in agreement, as he struggled to take any positives from yet another display this season which leaves many wondering if Lopetegui is the right man at the helm.

“It was a really poor performance,” said the club insider. “So hard to think of any positives really. A ridiculous red card and as much as I like Alvarez as a player it has cost us big today.

“The recruitment in the summer also puts big question marks over Steidten the fact our forward position still has not been resolved is a worrying reflection on the current situation.”
