West Ham have been told to replace Julen Lopetegui with a current Premier League manager.

A lack of substance, a lack of fight, and a lack of quality has defined Julen Lopetegui’s start to life as West Ham manager – and it could very well define the end of his reign too.

From day one of the Premier League season, the Hammers have looked well below the standard that’s expected; it doesn’t look like the Spaniard is the man for the job. Frustratingly, fans said that this would be the case before he was appointed.

With a number of names being thrown about as potential replacements, Hammers News propose that the Irons bring in Thomas Frank.

The Danish manager has been in charge of Brentford for six years, becoming only the second manager to lead the club into the top flight. He has just shy of a 34% win rate in the Premier League, which is impressive with a team of Brentford stature. During his time as West Ham manager, David Moyes’ was marginally higher at 37%.

What Frank has is a clear style of play, vision, and an ability to get players behind him. All of this can be brought to West Ham for as little as £9 million, an absolute steal for an established manager.

Signing the 51-year-old would be a real sign of ambition from the board, something they’re going to have to show if they are to get fans back on side. If they get the appointment right, they could end up bringing a lot more extra profit than a measly £9 million.
