West Ham have reacted to Mohammed Kudus’ extended ban.

While not unsurprising, it is disappointing to hear it confirmed that Mohammed Kudus has had his ban extended by a further two games, meaning he misses five in total.

Having already served some of his suspension, he now will miss the Everton, Newcastle, and Arsenal games.

The club have published their response to this detailing how “disappointed” they are with the decision. “West Ham United has today (Wednesday) been notified by the Football Association of charges relating to our Premier League fixture against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday 19 October 2024,” they stated via the club’s official website.

“Whilst the Club is disappointed with the outcome, it respects the process that has been undertaken.”

“West Ham United will be making no further comment.”

On top of the ban, Kudus has been fined £60,000, and the club £30,000.

Although it is extremely disappointing and has the potential to have massive ramifications on both West Ham’s season as well as Julen Lopetegui’s future, there can be very little arguing against it. Kudus committed what can be seen as three separate red card offences against Tottenham during their 4-1 defeat. In some ways, they’re lucky it’s only been extended by two matches.
