West Ham are a club clearly struggling with evidence suggesting the players are not happy with the current situation.

The appointment this summer of Head Coach Julen Lopetegui was supposed to be a freshening up of the previous system under David Moyes.

A more aligned approach with Julen Lopetegui working firmly alongside Technical Director Tim Steidten, as West Ham look to shift into a more modern and cohesive way of working.

On paper this should be an exciting chapter, however 6 months in its all starting to feel like a nightmare.

A clear breakdown in the relationship between Lopetegui and Steidten is clear, which is now undeniably being felt on the pitch too, with players clearly uncomfortable and unhappy with how things are unfolding.

The extended ban to Mohammed Kudus from the FA comes to no surprise to most, with the 5 match total ban arguably the best outcome we could have hoped for – with it potentially being in the region of 7-9.

This isn’t the only incident this season whereby our players have shown a total lack of discipline.

Edson Alvarez is now serving his second ban already this season, after another red card was shown in the 3-0 loss to Nottingham Forest.

West Ham in that game though were lucky to only be down to 10 men, with both Mavropanos and Summerville fortunate not to receive red cards also.

It’s a clear indication of the situation at present, which again points to a lost and out of depth Lopetegui, who’s days in east London already appear numbered.

It may only be 10 games into the Premier League season, but it’s clear something has to change, with signs growing by the week that this appointment has been a complete disaster for the club.

Everton is labelled as a must-win, with defeat surely pushing the club to take action as we sleepwalk towards a relegation battle.
