West Ham fans favourite Vladimir Coufal could depart the club in January with clubs in Germany and Turkey interested in his services, according to a report from Claret & Hugh.
Since joining his compatriot Tomas Soucek at the club in 2020, Coufal quickly became loved by all Hammers fans. From his defensive qualities, assists, his loveable character or love for the club, not one West Ham fan would doubt he is one of the best signings in the clubs recent history, especially for the little price of £5m from Slavia Prague.
The 32-year-old has played 161 times in all competitions in Claret and Blue, providing 2o assists in that time. He is yet to find the back of the net for the club and it would be a huge shame if he was to depart before scoring in front of the fans that adore him so much.
Last season, West Ham activated a 12-month option on the defender’s contract, keeping him registered with the Irons until June 2025. Unfortunately for the popular Coufal, he has been surplus to requirements at the London Stadium since the club signed Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Manchester United over the summer.
Coufal has played just 200 minutes in the Premier League this season, starting just two matches out of a possible ten. With no European football and an early exit from the Carabao Cup in which he started both. matches, the Czechia International has had limited opportunities, serving primarily as understudy to AWB.
It would be really said to see Vladimiir Coufal leave the London Stadium, however it is almost guaranteed to happen this summer, if not in January. No clubs have been named but moves to Turkey and Germany have been mooted, and both would likely be a good fit for Vlad.
