David Moyes makes jab at Tim Steidten following West Ham’s poor start to the season.

Since leaving the club, David Moyes hasn’t been afraid to speak his mind about West Ham. While there has been a lot of positivity, the way his time as manager ended has clearly left a sour taste in his mouth.

Obviously having large sections of the fanbase calling for his head despite being their most successful manager in the Premier League era is certainly one reason as to why he has a bit of disdain towards the Hammers, it’s also how the board treated him.

During his last year, Moyes saw power stripped away from him slightly with the appointment of Tim Steidten, and he’s recently made his feelings about this clear on the stick to football podcast.

“Managers roles have been diluted a lot,” he stated. “Ultimately, I still think the manager should have his finger in every situation.”

“Why would a young boy out of university who’s good at analytics be better than Gary Neville for example in signing a player for Salford?”

Unfortunately for Moyes, this is the way football as a whole is heading. Directors of football are going to become the norm and he will have to accept this if he wants to get a new job as a Premier League manager.
