Julen Lopetegui finds himself under increasing pressure following yet another poor performance this season.
West Ham hosted strugglers Everton at the weekend, and despite some good saves and one of the post, the display didn’t warrant a win as our Hammers continue to struggle under the guidance of the Head Coach.
As the club sit closer to a relegation battle than one ready to battle for a European spot, many are now calling on the hierarchy to take action and replace Lopetegui at the helm.
The West Ham Way Podcast duo Dave Walker and ExWHUEmployee were both understandably frustrated after the latest display, with Walker saying its now becoming the norm under the Spaniard.
“The sad thing is I’ve come to expect this from West Ham now,” stated Walker. “Boring football, slow tempo, no energy, no fight. In what was a must win game, that was a poor point at home against a struggling side.”
Ex agreed with his co-host, stating that its another worrying sign that no clear tactics or gameplan was evident – a key feature throughout ever since Lopetegui replaced David Moyes in the summer.
“I thought it was another poor performance with no real clear plan,” added Ex. “Tactics and formations seem confirmed and our set pieces never amount to anything. There were periods where we did well and Pickford made some good saves but you would have hoped for a better all round performance.”
