Former West Ham manager Sam Allardyce has says that Julen Lopetegui is “struggling to connect with the players”.
Despite actually doing a rather impressive job with West Ham, Sam Allardyce is unpopular amongst fans. He was kicked out of the club for an unexpiring style of football which many compare to David Moyes’.
However, what both those managers offered was stability, something West Ham are desperate for right now.
With just three wins this season, Julen Lopetegui desperately needs to turn things around at the London Stadium. However, Allardyce doesn’t seem too confident that he has what it takes, and suggests that the players aren’t particularly fond of the Spaniard.
“Obviously he came with a good reputation, not all foreigners are great coaches like everybody seems to think they are… There’s far more come and gone than been good enough.”
“At the moment, he’s struggling badly to connect with the players.”
Pressure is beginning to grow on Lopetegui with both fans and neutrals being shocked out just how poor the Hammers have been. He doesn’t have that “good reputation” for no reason, it’s time he starts showing why he was appointed.
