West Ham could miss out on their top striker target due to lack of funds.

Over the Summer, West Ham made some immense additions to their squad, spending well over £100 million to do so.

Signings like Jean-Clair Todibo, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and Max Kilman all seem to be great signings despite the club’s awful start to the Premier League season.

However, there are clearly areas they need to improve on still, namely the striker.

Although they signed Niclas Fullkrug for £27 million, they are still only left with Michail Antonio and Danny Ings as their forward options. The German has spent the majority of the season sidelined, and the club are extremely reluctant to put a time frame on his return.

As a result, they’re said to be looking at potential options with Pete O’Rourke suggesting that the Hammers are keen on signing Igor Jesus, a Brazilians striker who scored 25 goals in 49 games.

Unfortunately, it seems like the Irons could miss out on the highly sought after 23-year-old as the club are unwilling to meet his high price tag due to a lack of funds. This could open the door for other Prsmier League clubs to secure his signature instead.

The journalist claims that fund are not “readily available” which is extremely concerning due to how much improvement is really needed.
