West Ham could sign a young, Premier League full-back with blistering pace for free.

Despite making some sensational additions to their back line, West Ham’s defensive record has been abysmal once again this season.

While both Max Kilman and Jean-Clair Todibo have done excellent jobs at centre-back, Julen Lopetegui’s system leaves them isolated, especially when he forced a defensive minded right-back in Wan-Bissaka to push forward.

What West Ham need in a wide defensive player is someone who can get back from attacks with ease, someone with lightning pace, and someone who is just as good going forward as he is when trying to win back possession.

Fortunately, one such player may be available for free in the Summer as Tariq Lamptey’s contract runs out.

The Brighton defender has made 90 Premier League appearances, yet has failed to break into the side under their new manager.

West Ham are set to face competition from Everton if they do want to secure his signature, Football Inside reports.

Lamptey would undoubtedly be a brilliant option to have. He can play on both sides of the defence and offers things that neither Wan-Bissaka nor Emerson can. Not to mention he would add some much needed pace to this aging West Ham side.
