A West Ham star has hit out at the club over his lack of playing time.
Since signing for the club, the two Czech mates Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal have been a revelation. The hard work, leadership, and dedication they show is something every other player at West Ham United should aspire to.
Unfortunately, the latter of the two isn’t without issues with there being previous reports of him refusing to sign a contract.
Now, he has come out and publicly stated that he will be looking to leave the club unless his playing time increases. “I spoke to the coach, and he expressed satisfaction with my professionalism, saying I’d have opportunities,” Coufal claimed. “There’s no bad blood, but the playing time hasn’t come. If things don’t change, we’ll need to discuss my future.”
Obviously every player wants to be starting regularly, but Coufal’s performances over the past year or so have been well below the level required. At times, he’s been a real liability and Aaron Wan-Bissaka clearly deserves to be the first choice.
Costing the Hammers just £5 million, the Czech international has been more than worth that. However, with his contract expiring in the Summer, it may be best that the club part ways with him in order to, hopefully, allow one of the many young talents to play as backup to the Englishman.
