West Ham are said to be interested in signing a highly controversial midfielder.

It takes a lot to be consistently booed by West Ham fans as an opposition player, but is there any surprise Paul Pogba is one of the few it’s happened to?

Very few players are as polarising as the Frenchman. His arrogance sometimes made him untouchable, but other times it was his biggest weakness.

After a clash with Mark Noble back in 2018, Hammers fans’ disdain towards Pogba reached a boiling point. To this day, a lot of Hammers can not stand the man.

However, according to Fichajes, West Ham are one of two Premier League clubs interested in securing his signature when his ban for doping expires in 2025. Originally four years long, the ban was recently reduced to just 18 months.

Juventus are said to be desperate to tear up his contract, meaning he could be available for free.

Considering that West Ham could lose their own creative midfielder in Lucas Paqueta to a ban, Pogba may be an appealing option to someone like David Sullivan. Although he certainly has the ability, he’s the sort of player the club need to steer well clear of. He’s only ever going to cause problems behind the scenes, not to mention the fact that his injury record is abysmal. He’d be coming in with a lot of pressure on his back, if things go wrong then fans will get on his back instantaneously.
