West Ham could sign a World Cup winning striker on loan in the January transfer window.
Despite spending £27 million on Niclas Fullkrug in the Summer, West Ham’s striker issues are far from resolved. The German has spent more time injured than available for the Hammers and it still remains to be seen when he will be back.
Even when he has played, he hasn’t looked particularly great, and he’s reportedly unhappy with life in East London.
As a result, the Irons are already keen to bring in another No.9 to sign with Football Transfers reporting that Kolo Muani is a potential option.
The Frenchman signed for PSG for a whopping €95 million just a couple of years ago, but has failed to really produce in his home country. While his 11 goal involvements in 26 Ligue 1 matches last season isn’t awful, it’s far from what anyone would expect from a player who cost that much.
What he does bring to the table is versatility and pace in abundance, two things that the Hammers could really do with.
It’s claimed that PSG will be open to a loan move, as long as there is a buy clause which could really suit West Ham after their big spending spree in the Summer.
Unfortunately, they’re set to face stiff competition for his signature with both Newcastle and Manchester United apparently showing interest.
Ultimately, whether the signing is worth it or not comes down to if he’s able to adapt to the Premier League. If it is a loan with an option to buy rather than an obligation, it could be excellent business for the East London outfit.
