Alan Brazil makes controversial suggestions about West Ham after being shocked over manager links.

West Ham’s faith in Julen Lopetegui is starting to dwindle. The majority of fans knew from day one that the appointment wouldn’t work out, but that didn’t stop the board from appointing him.

After 11 Premier League games, West Ham have secured just 12 points, winning 3 games. However, the performances have been unforgivable. What’s massively concerning is the fact that no one really knows that the Spaniard’s plan is.

This abysmal start has led to various managers being linked with the job in the event that he gets sacked, and one of the front runners according to some reports is Brendan Rodgers.

Since leaving Leicester, he’s been enjoying a brilliant spell at Celtic where he is building one of the most exciting projects Scottish football has seen in years.

Despite this, many would argue that managing in the Premier League is a huge step up from Celtic, especially a club with ambitions as big as West Ham’s.

Shockingly, not everyone seems to agree with this, with talkSPORT pundit Alan Brazil seeming to suggest that it is unthinkable to imagine Rodger’s would leave Celtic to join the Irons. “Someone sent me a text last night saying Brendan [Rodgers] for West Ham… What? Brendan Rodgers? He can’t leave, not with how Celtic are playing.”

With all due respect to Celtic, the only argument they have of being a step up from West Ham is that they play Champions League football. If that is the case then is managing Slovan Bratislava a step up too? It’s a ridiculous assumption and anyone who isn’t Scottish or a Celtic fan knows that they’re not as influential as they think they are.
