Tomas Soucek says West Ham are now ready for the challenge of facing Arsenal this weekend following our win last night.
Julen Lopetegui’s side host the Gunners this Saturday, with confidence levels far higher after an outstanding performance in the 2-0 victory over Newcastle at St James’ Park.
It was a display and result that shocked many, following a poor start to the season, however Soucek told the clubs Official Website that he was confident that our Hammers would cause an upset against the odds.
“I had a great feeling from the first minute of the day,” said the Czech international, who scored the opening goal.
“We did a great warm-up, we were all determined to fight and we said to ourselves that now we’re going to fight for ourselves and we did it.
“It was a great performance with a great result so I’m so proud of the team.”
West Ham are now getting set to face London rivals and former captain Declan Rice this Saturday, with Soucek confident the Irons can claim back to back wins this season.
“We played a good game, we won and we can be confident for the training sessions when we come back, and for Saturday as well when we play against Arsenal,” added Soucek.
“It’s a big team but we play at home, we know that we beat them twice last season and we can do it again. This performance can help us, can give us some confidence and I believe that we can win again.”
