West Ham are finally starting to show the quality we possess as we look to kick on this season.

The victory and performance over Newcastle on Monday night is seen as the potential turning point for the club and Julen Lopetegui in particular, with West Ham producing an outstanding display to raise hopes that the campaign could yet turn into a positive one.

Carlos Soler, who was instrumental in the game, was delighted with what unfolded at St James’ Park and says the victory was fully deserved when talking to the clubs Official Website.

“I always want to play, but I know it’s the Head Coach who decides the line-up, but I was really pleased to be out there from the start today and in contact with the ball,” said the Spain international.

“We had a lot of the possession, and created lots of good chances, and we played really well. I think we just all enjoyed playing together as a team, and we deserved to come away with the right result in the end.”

Soler feels the win could now be a catalyst for the club to kick on and deliver a successful season, with the midfielder highlighting the clear levels of quality we possess within our squad.

“We are a very good team, with good players, and we showed that,” added Soler. “We haven’t been in the position that we want to be in the table, but we’ve shown what we can do, and hopefully this can be the start of a really successful season.”
