Nayef Aguerd has all the making of a brilliant centre-back, yet he was a liability for West Ham. As a result, he’s spending the season on loan at Real Sociedad.
So far, his performances have been exceptional, succeeding how good he was in Ligue 1. This great form is to have attracted one of, if not the biggest club in the world: Real Madrid, according to reports.
Any West Ham fan would hear this and be absolutely shocked, after all he was very poor in claret and blue, but it does make a lot of sense in some ways.
Clearly, he had some very desirable attributes such as good pace, great passing, and the ability to put in a good tackle. However, he clearly couldn’t deal with the constant pressure defenders are under in the Premier League, especially not in a defensive system like David Moyes played.
In a side that dominates the ball, he would be able to show what he does best. While Real Madrid does seem a bit too much for a player of his ability, there’s every reason to believe he could do very well there.
