A former West Ham manager has potentially cost the club a managerial target.

Julen Lopetegui’s future hangs in the balance. As of right now, it’s unknown whether or not he will still be in charge for the Wolves match on Monday night.

However, what is known is that the club have discussed a list of potential replacements for the Spaniard in the event he is sacked.

Unfortunately, it seems like one long standing issue could put off potential suitors to the role.

David Sullivan is not particularly popular amongst the Hammers’ fanbase, and his relationship with managers haven’t been great bar David Moyes.

As a result, reports have claimed that Edin Terzic could be the next gaffer.

On one hand I think it could be a decent appointment, he’s obviously done well at Dortmund, having got them into a Champions League final and he knows the club extremely well but, on the other hand, the issues he had that ultimately led to him leaving are things that will only be amplified at a club like West Ham.

Ultimately, it seems like he may not even get close to joining anyway as it’s claimed Slaven Bilic has advised him against joining our Irons until Sullivan has left the club.

Although some people may see this as disrespectful, I don’t see an issue with it. Bilic is only protecting his former assistant coach, and someone he is likely good friends with. I also would find it hard to believe that Terzic wouldn’t already be well aware of the challenges that come with working with the board.

With that being said, I don’t think he’d be the right man for the job and it may actually be for the best that Bilic has given him that advice.
