Jamie Carragher praises two West Ham stars for their performances against Wolves.

While it was a massive three points, West Ham’s performance against Wolves was subpar. It was the same uninspired, lethargic football we’ve seen all season.

However, there were a few standout performances, with Jamie Carragher highlighting both of the Hammers’ goal scorers. He started by praising Tomas Soucek, who scored a lovely lofted header to give his side the lead. “This guy has been an absolute revelation since joining West Ham,” he told Sky Sports. “He has scored 12 goals [from set-pieces]. And, when you think of dangers [from those situations], you think of Soucek. Absolutely fantastic, that man.”

The midfielder came under a lot of scrutiny at one point, but he’s consistently made himself an undroppable player. As much as the club can try to replace him, I get the feeling he’s always going to force himself into the starting XI.

Secondly, there’s Jarrod Bowen who’s world-class goal gave the Hammers all three points. The Englishman has been a cut above the rest once again this season, and he’s really growing into his role as captain excellently.

“You feel like you’ve seen that goal so often,” Carragher said. “Mo Salah scores that goal, Bowen scores that goal.”
