Edson Alvarez is eager to draw a line under what has been a difficult time for the player of late.

The Mexican international has struggled for form and has clearly had an issue with regards to discipline, which is something he is keen to move on from and help get our season on track.

There can be no denying that the form of Alvarez this season is far from what we as fans expect from the Mexico captain, with question marks surrounding his commitment to the cause, as the club struggle to settle under the guise of Head Coach Julen Lopetegui.

Alvarez though is keen to move forward and rediscover his best form for the club, as the player tries to focus on the limited positives so far in this tough and disappointing season.

“I’m gradually finding my rhythm again, I’m feeling good, and it’s just nice to be able to help the team to a win again,” Alvarez told the clubs Official Website.

“Being in this sort of position isn’t something I’m too familiar with, so I’m learning a lot. As a team we’ve not been where we want to be for a lot of this season, but we always play to win, and Monday was particularly special.

“We just need to back it up now. We have 18 points now and there is still everything to play for. We all need to keep improving, but this result was important and we’ve got a lot of games coming up now where we’ll be hoping for more wins.”
