West Ham appear to be making plans over the potential sale of Mohammed Kudus, it’s been reported by ExWHUEmployee.
Following the arrival of the Ghana star to east London back in 2023, there has been reports of a probable exit due to an release clause inserted into the contract, which is understood to be in the region of £90m.
This clause however does not become again active until the end of the current season.
There have been recent murmurings within the media that clubs including Arsenal are keen on the player and could be set to make a move in the upcoming January transfer window.
Although West Ham appear at this stage not keen to lose Kudus mid-season, there appears to be interest in the possibility of raising significant funds, which could be used to strengthen the squad for the second half of the season.
Our Podcast co-host and club insider ExWHUEmployee has advised that the club has slapped a price tag on the forward, with the club looking at brining in a ‘top-class’ striker.
The club has responded to rumours of Arsenal, Newcastle and Liverpool wanting to sign Mohammed Kudus with this statement:
“We’ve had no bid. We could do with a top class CF and need to raise funds. We’d want £100m”
West Ham have already identified some forward options for the window as we spoke about on this week’s podcast.
It also explains why Tim Steidten has a strong interest in Chelsea winger Carney Chukwuemeka on a potential loan deal as he could be developed into Kudus’ successor should the Ghanaian leave the club. A number of Championship options are also being looked at.
Although a sale in the new year of around £100m appears a long shot, especially as its mid-season and PSR rules in place, its becoming clear that the club are now open to selling the former Ajax star to fund the ongoing rebuild.
