West Ham are in the market for a ‘top-class’ striker in the upcoming transfer window.
It’s been a tumultuous period for the club of late, following what was a summer of significant change in east London with 9 new players arriving along with a new Head Coach and backroom team.
Despite the early optimism, the season hasn’t gone as well as hoped thus far, with the club languishing in the bottom half of the Premier League, much to the frustration of all connected with West Ham.
The recent serious injury to Michail Antonio following a car accident has now prompted the club to make plans for a busy January, with it understood that a ‘top-class’ striker is top of the priority list.
The issue West Ham have however is funds, with it well documented that player sales will be the driver behind bringing in new players in the new year, as Mohammed Kudus and Nayef Aguerd both earmarked as players the club could look to cash in on.
Kudus is reported to have A £100m price tag on his head in January, with Arsenal and Newcastle reported to be showing serious interest, although the value may hamper a move for the Ghana star the following summer.
West Ham though are keen to do business as they know that a striker is very much needed, so it could be seen as the right opportunity to balance the squad as we look to improve and get the season on track in the 2nd half of the campaign.
