Former West Ham midfielder Hayden Mullins has spoken of his love for the club.
The midfielder, who has retired from playing and is now a coach for Fulham’s U21’s side, is set to appear at The West Ham Way Pre-Match Event this Saturday ahead of our clash against Brighton.
Mullins was a popular player for the club, where he worked under Alan Pardew during an exciting time for the club, which saw promotion to the Premier League and an FA Cup final against Liverpool.
The former Hammer is expected to talk everything from his time at the club, David Moyes’ reign, his thoughts on Lopetegui and also share his views on the club ahead of the upcoming January transfer window.
When talking about the club he spent 6 years at, Mullins admitted its a time that holds a special place in his heart.
“This football Club is a special club,” Mullins told the clubs Official Website. “Especially the time we had here. We had a really good group.”
We cannot wait for this event before the Brighton game where we welcome back a popular former guest.
Hayden Mullins was Alan Pardew’s first signing for the club from Crystal Palace in 2003. He went on to make 179 appearances for the club scoring 4 goals, including a belter against Norwich. He played in two play off finals (a loss and a win) and missed out on a Cup Final appearance due to a red card against the opponents in the final Liverpool, a few weeks before the final itself. Hayden famously kept Argentinian superstar Javier Mascherano out of the team.
Hayden eventually left in 2009 to join Portsmouth and played in a cup final for them! He is currently manager of Fulham’s under 21s.
