West Ham could cancel the contract of a failed Summer signing as early as January.
Many fans had claimed that West Ham had “won the Summer transfer window”, but this couldn’t have been further from the truth. Bar Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Max Kilman, and Crysencio Summerville, there’s still varying degrees of doubt as to whether the additions were good ones. Unfortunately, with a few of them there’s little to suggest that they were worth signing.
Guido Rodriguez simply isn’t good enough to play Premier League football. He’s too slow, he doesn’t work hard enough, and he just doesn’t have any sort of presence in midfield.
As a result, the Hammers are keen to offload him as soon as possible, with there being a possibility he could have his contract terminated, according to reports.
Although he’s been woeful, it makes no sense in my eyes to cancel his contract – it would just be taking money away from the transfer budget. Even if you have to let him go for free, that’s much better than spending money on him no longer being at the club.
