West Ham are desperate to make loan signing permanent after his impressive start to life in claret and blue.

The decision to get rid of James Ward-Prowse and replace him with Carlos Soler was not a particularly popular one amongst West Ham fans. In his first few appearances, it seemed like it was at best a side step.

However, he’s since proven all his doubters wrong, cementing himself as a crucial player to Julen Lopetegui. His passing, work rate, and ability to carry the ball all make him a great fit.

Not only has he proven himself on the pitch, but his dedication and willingness to get involved with things like the club’s foundation have made the Hammers keen to make his loan permanent as soon as possible, reports have suggested.

While the supposed price varies, West Ham are said to be in discussions over a £16-25 million deal in January.

Although it’s still early into his loan, it would be a delight to see the move made permanent. He’s the midfielder we’ve needed for years. While there’s not necessarily any harm in leaving it until the end of the season, especially if claims that the club have an option to buy are true, it would be nice to have it wrapped up sooner rather than later.
