West Ham United have confirmed that Jarrod Bowen has suffered a fractured foot in a major blow for the Hammers.
With the form the sides in, with the negativity surrounding the club and the manager, it’s hard to imagine how things could get much worse at West Ham. As always though, the footballing gods find a way.
Hammers captain Jarrod Bowen went off injured against Liverpool. While it was initially suspected to be just a knock, a scan revealed that it was actually a fractured foot.
The club released a statement that reads: “West Ham United can confirm Jarrod Bowen sustained a fractured foot injury in Sunday’s Premier League fixture against Liverpool. The injury to his left foot, picked up in the first half at London Stadium, will sideline the Hammers captain heading into the New Year.”
Although this does not provide much information except the type of injury, fractured foot’s normally see players unavailable for anywhere between six and twelve weeks (but this is purely speculation).
It could be disastrous for both the Hammers and Lopetegui as they head into a crucial part of the season. Without his captain and best player, Lopetegui’s hopes of turning things around have diminished. Hopefully Bowen is back sooner rather than later but only time will tell.
