West Ham could sign a sought after defender for an “affordable” price in January.
Despite signing Kilman, Wan-Bissaka, and Todibo in the Summer transfer window, West Ham’s defense has still been abysmal. They’ve already conceded an unforgivable 39 goals in the Premier League alone, with them letting in nine in their last two games.
With rumours circulating that Graham Potter could take over from Julen Lopetegui, signing a centre-back could become a top priority – especially considering he likes to play a five-at-the-back system.
As a result, the Hammers are said to be looking at Kevin Danso to bolster their defence. Reports claim that he could be available for the “affordable” price of £25-30 million, but the likes of Newcastle, Juventus, Bayern Munich, etc are all said to be interested.
Although he’s a quality defender, it’s hard to see the club spending that amount of money on a centre-back in January. They desperately need a striker, and a midfielder is also a position they want to add to: with their limited funds, a lot of money would need to be generated via player sales to make the Danso move happen.
