West Ham Women have announced that defenders Anouk Denton and Amber Tysiak have put pen to paper on new deals with both signing contracts until the summer of 2028.
21 year old fullback Denton first joined the Hammers on loan from Arsenal in 2021. After a spell playing in the USA, she returned to the club on a permanent contract in 2023. She has gone on to make 40 appearances in claret and blue.
Denton has played in all 10 of West Ham’s WSL games so far this season. The young fullback has been a consistent performer for Rehanne Skinner’s side, showing her reliability defensively, the 21 year old has also scored twice so far this season.
Speaking to the Club’s official website after her new deal was announced, Denton said: “It feels amazing to have signed a new contract at West Ham. I have loved my time at the Club so far. I feel like I have matured and developed over the last couple of years and feel really settled here.”
Fellow defender Tysiak signed for West Ham Women at the start of 2023 from Belgian side OH Leuven and has since made 33 appearances for the Hammers. The 24 year has played every minute in the WSL so far this season and her performances for West Ham since joining the Club have seen her regularly called up to the Belgian national team.
Tysiak is a player who it’s felt is consistently improving and continuing to progress well with West Ham. Discussing the announcement of her new contract, Tysiak said: “I’m very excited to sign a new contract here. I want to keep progressing both on and off the pitch, and to challenge myself in the best league in the world. West Ham feels like a home away from home for me, and I’m already looking forward to continuing my chapter with this special Club.”
Securing the long term futures of two young defenders and two important cogs in the current Hammers side is a big statement of intent by the Club. It is also certainly great news for supporters as well. With Denton as well as Tysiak signing new deals and committing the next three years of their careers to the Club, it will be hoped that both can continue progressing in East London and play their parts in West Ham Women succeeding.
Tysiak and Denton’s new deals shows that the future for West Ham Women can be bright.
