West Ham have secured the future of defender Ryan Battrum, it’s been reported by ExWHUEmployee.
The Academy U21 defender, who has also captained the club at U18 level, is very highly rated at the club and has now signed a new 2 year contract.
Reporting on The West Ham Way Podcast this week, our insider Ex has advised that the deal will kick in this summer, meaning Battrum will be at the club for another 2.5 years at least.
The deal is considered a huge boost for the club and Academy, as they continue the development of the player towards the West Ham first team.
Battrum comes from a big West Ham family, who are understandably delighted with the new deal.
In other news, Ex has also reported that the club are taking Scotland youth international forward Josh Landers on trial.
The 17 year old striker, who plays for Hibernian, is currently with the clubs Academy as they weigh up offering him a deal to head to east London.
