Graham Potter has expressed his excitement in taking charge of his first match at home as Head Coach at West Ham.

The former Brighton boss will take charge at the London Stadium when we take on Fulham at the London Stadium tonight, with Potter expecting an excellent atmosphere from the fans as we look to give lift off to the Potter era in east London.

“I had no doubt about the supporters, and for sure I can’t wait for the first home game tomorrow night,” Potter told the press, as reported by whufc.com

“We need a connection between the supporters and the team, and so we have to build a team that can help do that. We hope the performances and results are good, so we can bring everyone along with us.”

In what will be music to West Ham fans ears also, is the new Head Coach’s desire to see the club promote from within, as he gave praise to the quality within our Academy of Football.

“The Academy here has done some fantastic work, and winning the FA Youth Cup recently suggests that,” added Potter.

“I think our supporters like seeing our young players helping in the first team, and I think our starting point should be looking at what we have here. I’m looking forward to working with the staff here, and doing that.”

“I think our supporters know where we are with our journey. The result is the most important thing, ultimately.

“We want to play the right way, but points are helpful. If we could have both, that’d be great.
