Jhon Duran ‘would be up’ for a move to West Ham if they can match Aston Villa’s reported £60m value for the Colombian, according to Football365.
The Hammers were heavily interested in Villa’s Duran during the summer but failed to meet the price tag. Tim Steidten opted to sign Niclas Fullkrug instead, and will be full of regret due to the Germans consistent injury problems since arriving in East London.
Jhon Duran has been on fire for Villa this season, scoring 12 goals in just seven starts. Now, TBR football have claimed that West Ham submitted am improved bid’ for Duran last week with the Hammers ‘desperately looking to bolster their attacking ranks this month’.
It is very likely that Duran would be keen on a switch to London Stadium, despite only signing a contract extension till 2030 in August. The Colombian was desperate for a move in the summer as he did the crossed hammers on Instagram live in an attempt to force Villa’s hand to accept the bid.
However, Duran’s form this season has alerted a lot more clubs and now has a lot of other clubs chasing his signature – PSG and Barcelona reportedly hold an interest in the forward. Therefore, a move to the Hammers is even more unlikely than it was in the summer.
After one final bid, which was reportedly turned down immediately, its time for the Hammers to move on to other targets. Reports suggest that Graham Potter has his eyes on a moves for Evan Ferguson of Brighton, Jonathan David of Lille and Elye Wahi of Marseille.
