West Ham are identifying striker targets with Graham Potter holding meetings with the clubs recruitment team, its been reported by ExWHUEmployee.

Despite the positive shift in east London following the arrival of Potter, who replaced Julen Lopetegui last week, there is still the ongoing injury crisis to resolve as we enter the 3rd week of the January transfer window.

Reporting on The West Ham Way Patreon, our club insider has provided an update on the current state of play, with Ex exclusively revealing that the club are reviewing Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz as a potential signing.

“A target that has resurfaced and one I mentioned on the Podcast is Rodrigo Muniz of Fulham who ironically came on as a sub against us last night,” stated Ex on Patreon. “Lopetegui was said to be a fan of the deal and that interest has continued. A loan with an option to buy seems most likely in these negotiations.

“The Brazilian has been in and out of Fulham’s team since he joined but is said to welcome the opportunity for more game time in the Premier League.”

Ex has also provided an update on both Taiwo Awoniyi and Evan Ferguson, who have been reported for some time to be potential targets of the club this January.

“Taiwo Awoniyi talks will continue,” advised Ex. “We did want to sign him on loan originally with an option to buy but talks for a permanent move have also been discussed. Awoniyi counts as a home grown player which is a bonus having came through Liverpool’s academy.

“The player ironically sat on the bench against Liverpool last night and came on in the 90th minute replacing Chris Wood. He is having his minutes massively reduced though due to the amazing season Wood is having and injuries that have also hindered his progress.

“Potter is also said to be very keen on reuniting with Evan Ferguson and a loan deal from Brighton has been discussed for the Irish international.

“He has a number of clubs in for him but Brighton seem reluctant to sanction a transfer yet and this could be one that we have to make a call on. Do we wait until the end of the window for him or sanction a transfer elsewhere.”

Furthermore, Ex has reported that the club are interested in RB Leipzig striker Andre Silva and Evann Guessand of Nice.

“The rumours of interest in Portuguese forward are also true,” stated Ex. “He currently plays in Germany for RB Leipzig. He has again said to be made available for loan and has a good cv having played over 50 times for his country and for Milan and Frankfurt.

“We also like Evann Guessand of Nice, however at the moment the finances seem to be out of our range, but we will continue talking to the club further to see if anything moves on from there and we can get a more suitable fee.”

In other news, the club have now confirmed that goalkeeper Krisztián Hegyi has joined Hungarian club Debreceni VSC on loan until the end of the season, as was exclusively revealed by our insider on the Podcast.
