Jarrod Bowen is set to return much sooner than anyone expected.
Despite missing multiple key players through injuries, Graham Potter’s first premier League game in charge of West Ham United was a huge success. Not only did he walk away with all three points, but he also united a fractured fanbase.
Although it wasn’t perfect, fans are excited to see what he is capable of when he gets some of his stars back, particularly club captain Jarrod Bowen. The Englishman suffered a fractured foot in the first-half of the Liverpool match (although he actually continued to play into the second) and was expected to be out for a significant amount of time. Fortunately, Potter’s latest update sounds a lot more promising.
“You know Jarrod – he wants to be out there, he wants to play and we’re trying to pull the reins on him rather than the other way around. He’s fantastic to have around the place,” Potter said.
“He’s just champing at the bit and he wants to get out and help. But he just has to take his medicine at the moment and just do his rehab properly.
“He was out jogging today with the individual physio, so it’s positive. I think if I’m looking at it now, Jarrod will be ahead of schedule rather than behind schedule. It’s not a rocket scientist prediction, that is it really.”
His partner Dani Dyer originally said he was targeting a mid-February return, but reports have claimed this could now be as early as two games time when they face Aston Villa.
This would obviously be remarkable recovery and it’s just a testament to how strong his character is that he’s doing everything to get back as soon as possible
