West Ham appear to have a clearer option for our striker recruitment this January, it’s been reported by ExWHUEmployee.

The club have been in talks with a number of clubs surrounding forwards we see as potential key targets, however the January market is causing a usual air of frustration, with clubs lacking appetite to sell.

Ex exclusively revealed that Rodrigo Muniz of Fulham as a potential option, however the west Londoners seem unwilling to progress talks with no desire to cash in on the Brazilian.

“Fulham have made it very clear they do not wish to sell Rodrigo Muniz and their manager even went as far as to say they will not entertain any offers for the player in his press conference,” reported Ex on The West Ham Way Patreon.

“Therefore any form of movement on that stance is likely to require a very large offer from us which we are not prepared to do.”

Ex also has provided an update on other targets, with the club again running into similar stumbling blocks in trying to enable talks to negotiate a potential transfer.

“Taiwo Awoniyi is another target who we really like and negotiations have continued today but it does appear Nottingham Forest are reluctant to entertain any offers,” stated Ex. “Forest are obviously having a sensational season and whilst Chris Wood is their first choice, Awoniyi is second and if they were to let him go now they would in turn need a replacement.

“This is a bit of a common theme especially during a January transfer window where clubs do not want to let players go.

“Evan Ferguson still presents an interesting option. We are still keen, as are many others, but injuries to him and his fellow forwards have delayed any movement.

“Evann Guessand and Jonathan David also still remain targets but it looks likely at this stage that we may have to wait to the summer before making a move.”

There is however positive developments in the pursuit of Andre Silva, who is understood to be keen on a move to east London, with that option at this stage looking the most likely to yield success in bringing him in.

“One forward who is definitely available and wants to join and could be sorted quite quickly is that of Andre Silva,” added Ex. “The Portuguese international is extremely experienced having played in 2 world cups, one European championship and having played in Portugal, Spain, Italy and Germany.

“He is said to want to play in England now. Whilst this transfer is clearly a gamble and we haven’t got a good track record of foreign forward signings, with it only being a loan deal with an option to buy it could be a gamble worth trying.

“Silva is 29 so age isn’t in his side but the club have expressed a desire to bring in a couple of younger forwards in the summer.”
