West Ham are running a huge risk by waiting for a striker target decision.

With just a matter of days left of the January transfer window, West Ham are not even remotely close to signing anyone. Although they need improvements all over the pitch, the priority is clearly bringing in a striker.

However, they are said to be taking a huge risk by waiting to see if Brighton forward Evan Ferguson will be available on loan.

Not only have the Seagulls not made a decision on his future, but he has recently sustained an ankle injury which could make passing a medical rather difficult.

If you can keep him fit, Ferguson is the perfect striker for West Ham in my eyes. At such a young age it’s remarkable how complete he is, yet his injury record would suggest that they should steer well clear. The main thing is that if we are to wait for him, the club has a backup option lined up and ready to go.
