Graham Potter has dropped a major hint that Jarrod Bowen could return to action this weekend against Aston Villa.

The West Ham captain has been out injured with a foot fracture, however as reported for a number of weeks, the England winger is ahead of schedule and could feature this weekend.

“He’s had a couple of sessions, bit it’s still early,” stated the Head Coach, as reported by the clubs Official Website. “We’ve got another day tomorrow so we’ll see, but it’s important we don’t rush it.

“It’s the same with Cry, he’s had a couple of sessions, but we need to see. There are no further problems from the weekend.

“It’s nice to have them back amongst it, but it’s important we manage it properly. He’s [Todibo] is progressing, but the weekend will come too soon for him.

“It’s the first full week we’ve had. It’s been nice, we’ve managed to do some work, analyse the last game and train well.

“With every day we get to know the players better, so it’s been a good week.”

Potter is very aware of the challenge ahead this Sunday against Villa, however with a full week on the training ground, its expected that West Ham will improve from what was put on display against Crystal Palace last weekend.

“It’s always a tough game at Aston Villa,” added Potter. “It’s always a challenging environment, and with Unai Emery doing such a good job there, and competing in the UEFA Champions League, it’s always a test.

“It’s the Premier League, we’re at West Ham, so there’s pressure and demand to win. Our ambition is there – we want to improve, we want to move to a style of play our supporters are fond of – so the rest of the games this season are really important.”
