Former Manchester United striker has encouraged his teammate to joint West Ham.

In recent weeks, West Ham have been linked with a whole host of strikers.

While perhaps not as keen as reports have suggested, the Hammers are said to hold interest in Ajax’s Brobbey.

Surprsingly, Ajax striker Weghorst has actually

encouraged his teammate to join the Irons.

“I told him that they are really nice clubs, and that he should absolutely do that,” he told Ajax TV.

“But of course we were on the plane back, and then everything came online. He was sitting behind me, and I said: ‘Those are really nice clubs, you should do it’,” Weghorst explained.

“That happens, and that is inherent to football. Especially in this transfer period. Then that plays out and that comes up. Each time with different people. Also, with him. That’s just part of football,” he concluded.

Although he doesn’t confirm it, with the rumours that have been going around it’s safe to assume he’s talking about West Ham. However, coming out and saying this about one of your club’s key players is quite something – certainly not something our fanbase would be happy with one of our players doing.
