West Ham have categorically denied claims that talks have taken place over selling a big-name player in the Summer.
A recent injury crisis has only emphasised how desperately West Ham need yet another rebuild at the end of the season. Some players will undoubtedly be leaving, and this will open room for new ones to take their place.
However, if this rebuild is going to be successful they will need to keep hold of as many of their best players as possible.
Although his form for the majority of the last year has been awful, Lucas Paqueta is one player that could make or break the team.
Surprisingly, reports recently emerged claiming that him and his agent met with his former club Flamengo to arrange a £20 million deal. A report from Sean Whetstone however has completely denied this.
If you had asked me three months ago, I honestly would have absolutely taken that deal with how consistently poor Paqueta has been. Fortunately, he’s been playing brilliantly under Graham Potter and could once again be becoming a vital player that must be kept at all costs.
