West Ham have announced that concession price shall remain in a huge victory for all who have protested the initial decision.
It has been a hot subject for many months, since the club decided to scrap concession ticket prices from next season, which quite rightly caused fury amongst fans.
Talks have been ongoing between the club and fan forums, with an feeling for some time that they would not budge on the decision, whilst concerns that prices were also set to rise from next season.
However, today in a landmark statement from the club, it has now been confirmed that they will not be going ahead with the planned cut on concession tickets, whilst also announcing that prices will freeze for next season also.
The West Ham Way Podcast duo Dave Walker and ExWHUEmployee have shared their thoughts on the announcement, which has taken many by surprise.
“I am so pleased the club have made this decision, it’s the right thing to do,” said Walker. “Well done to everyone that protested and put pressure on this situation, a fantastic outcome for current and future generations.”
Ex agreed with his co-host, stating that finally the club have come to their senses on the matter, that has caused much anger in recent months.
“Common sense has finally prevailed and I thought this would eventually be the case,” stated Ex. “Well done to the campaign groups that have put on the pressure to make this happen! And it is great to finally see some common sense and loyalty recognition coming forward.”
