West Ham have identified Santiago Castro as a target for the club in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Argentinian striker, who currently plays for Serie A side Bolonga, is highly rated and is said to be a top target for Italian giants Inter Milan, so West Ham are set to battle to land the forward.

Despite only being 20 years of age, Castro is considered a hot prospect in the market, with 8 goals to his name this season already.

The striker also operates well in a system similar to the preferred one which has been utilised by Graham Potter since he arrived in east London this season, which has many suggesting that Castro could be an ideal player to operate well under the former Brighton boss.

Tuttosport, who broke the story, have now reported that West Ham are set to be firmly in the mix to sign Castro this summer, although competition is expected to hot up by the close of the current season.
